Last Minute Free Food Alert

There's an event happening at the Special Collections building on the UGA campus. I hear that home.made will be catering the event. If you've never eaten their food, you're missing out. The swanee bites are excellent. Go score some freebies! Here's the info:

Friday, February 20th
Opening Reception, Pennington Radio Collection Exhibit, 3:30PM
Auditorium, 2nd floor, Special Collections Building

This program and reception will celebrate the Pennington Radio Collection, which includes tube radios, external speakers, and other artifacts dating from 1913 to 1933. Fascinating early radio designs by Atwater Kent, Alfred Grebe, and Lee De Forest are on display alongside classics from Western Electric, RCA, Philco, and Crosley. The Pennington Radio Collection was donated to the Libraries by the late Claude Pennington. The program will include a tribute to Dr. Pennington, and Dr. Jay Hamilton, an Associate Professor at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, will discuss radio as a disruptive technology in the early 20th century.

During the reception, visitors will be able to hear period music from one of the radios in the collection in a special listening room.
